One of the main purposes of Art is to remind people of how they can express themselves through diverse forms. Friendship and brotherhood can be maintained and improved through Art, which has the magic capability of bringing together even the most controversial ideas.
ADAP, holding the principle of serving for a sustainable peace above all and aiming at unifying people around the universal language of Art, has been successfully operating on its mission since 2003.
ADAP brings masses together to reinforce peace by collaborating worldwide known musicians from diverse roots like Israel, Iran, USA, Egypt, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Armenia, France, Sri Lanka, Japan, Slovakia, Hungary...ADAP is obviously open to welcome all artists sharing similar goals.
Until recently, ADAP organized classical music concerts in UNESCO Headquarters (Paris), İŞ Sanat and Cemal Reşit Rey concert halls (İstanbul), Neumünster Abbey (Luxemburg), Slovak Institute (Budapest) and BOZAR (Belgium) acquiring a great public success and broad communications.
At the present time, ADAP is on the brink of carrying out another fascinating concert which will happen on 20 February 2010 !
Titling as "Cyprus, Island of Peace !", the concert will take place in Cyprus, a cradle for great civilizations with her nine thousand years of history and rising like a fortress in the middle of the Mediterranean sea, which gives this event a crucial significance considering the island's strategic location as well as her unique historical identity.
Cyprus, the third largest island on the Mediterranean sea, known as the birth place of Aphrodite and Adonis, and which was presented as a gift to Cleopatra from Caesar as a proof of the greatness of his love for her, now hosts the two most important musicians who were grown up on her soils: Rüya Taner and Cyprien Katsaris, as well as renowned Greek musician George-Emmanuel Lazaridis and Turkish musician Hüseyin Sermet accompanied by the enchanting sound of piano on the very same stage.
The sound of music will rise in the name of peace and fraternity above Cyprus, the island that brings communities together on the same landmass. The four pianists will be sharing the same pianos, performing pieces in 4 and 8 hands, as a reflection of mutual comprehension through music.
The concert will take place in the most symbolic venue located in the center of the island, Ledra Palace... a facility belonging to United Nations, whose mission to assemble people around the common purposes is perfectly matching to the spirit of ADAP artists.
We kindly invite all people sharing our goals to join our excitement and willingness.
